Knock the door: Westchester West

Posted by Bob on June 15, 2010

Neighbors in Wheaton knocked 207 doors in two hours on Saturday! 14 people took a break from World Cup fever and hit the pavement to connect with their neighbors on Hewitt Avenue and build for a Neighbors Exchange in Wheaton on June 24th.

Knocking doors is kind of like planting a seed. It’s a first step in growing relationships that strengthen our neighborhoods and our lives. Knocking doors is also a lot of fun – and a great way to meet people in the neighborhood and the Wheaton network.

Door Knocking at Westchester West

Last weekend was my first experience door knocking where the ask is simply: “Can I have a conversation?” (As opposed to your vote or your money.) It’s not a transaction – it’s making friends. And even though it was hot (really hot), I can’t wait to keep knocking!
