Reflections from first-time door knockers

Posted by meganmoriarty on April 11, 2010

Watch this great video of Lori-Christina (IMPACT Board Member) and Carmen (one of the new Community Connectors for Wheaton) as they reflect on their first day of door knocking for the Neighbors Campaign.

They joined us up at Cinnamon Run Apartments yesterday to get the word out about Tuesdays Together and the Neighborhood Service Center. Unfortunately the group was smaller than we expected — a number of our door knockers had emergencies come up or got jobs for yesterday and couldn’t make it — but the 7 of us knocked on over 170 doors in less than two hours.

And here’s a picture of the rest of the group:

This is great. I want to use this as footage at school to encourage social workers to get involved with community organzing.
