Getting the word out in Gaithersburg

Posted by meganmoriarty on March 19, 2009

Patricia and I spent this afternoon visiting apartment buildings, local businesses and non-profits to spread the word about the new Neighborhood Service Center at 602 E. Diamond Avenue and the Neighbors Exchange session on Mar. 26.

Now that the Community Connectors are ready to receive residents, we wanted to be sure neighbors knew they could visit them during the week from 2-6pm.

We heard many stories about how hard it is for people to get to the Germantown or Rockville HHS centers, so everyone was glad to hear there is now a local office right in their neighborhood! Front line workers said they will start referring area residents to 602 E. Diamond and believed the closer location would make accessing services easier for many families.

Listen to Patricia talking about one of the stories we heard while doing outreach today.
